PROFILE Finance Director - Devan has 40 years’ experience in financial management of full value chain of tobacco business including manufacturing, distribution, farming and with 23 years of the experience in almost all Asian countries, mostly focus on restructuring or start-up of new investments and establishing business and building the financial control environment. Finance Director – Bangladesh April 2021 to Sept 2024; Indonesia April 2017 to March 2021; South East Asia Development Markets Jan 2012 to April 2016; Singapore – Jan 2009 to Dec 2011; India Jan 2002 to Dec 2008. Career start date Sept 1984 to Dec 2001, various Finance position in Malaysia, my home base. Responsible to help new management team in place to successfully complete restructuring from a locally acquired with total value about US$ 2.0, from Direct to Retailer selling model into Direct to Distributor based business and Vice Versa. The process include reducing headcount automating all financials processes whilst managing ongoing fully integrated business with tobacco farming, manufacturing and distribution all incorporated in one entity. Whilst ensuring adequate finance support despite the local challenges and hurdles but upholding the JTI values and compliances.
