About Me

Megan Bonifacino is a mentorship program designer with 15+ years of experience leading programs, developing people, and building the structures that make professional relationships meaningful. She founded Off the Critical Path (OTCP), an independent consulting practice focused on mentorship program design and capability development for organizations that want mentoring to actually work. Megan currently serves as Mentorship Program Director for PMI San Diego, where she designs and facilitates Coaching Pods, a facilitated peer learning model that supports 60-80 mentees across two cohorts annually. She appliesan outcome-based mentoring approach to address a gap she observed repeatedly in organizational mentorship programs: structured pairings without structured outcomes. Her program design centers goal clarity, reflective practice, and the ongoing relationship as the core unit of value. Prior to founding OTCP, Megan held program management and leadership roles at Kenvue (formerly Johnson & Johnson) and the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), where she managed teams of up to 30 professionals, developed talent through Individual Development Plans, and ran formal mentoring and professional development programs. She holds a PMP, MBA, and M.S. in Innovation Management.
